On the way to change the diagnosis of endometriosis with EndoSearch®

Endometriosis

A misunderstood and misdiagnosed disease

Endometriosis affects 10% of all women of reproductive age representing 180 million patients worldwide

Endometriosis is caused by tissue, that usually lines inside the uterus, developing outside the uterus.

Major diagnostic delays

Endometriosis is often misdiagnosed or remains undiagnosed for a long period of time, usually there are 7 to 11 years between disease onset and its diagnosis.
Currently only the removal of endometriotic lesions via laparoscopy under general anesthesia and their histological analysis by the pathologist enable the diagnosis of endometriosis with certainty.

Severe but non-specific symptoms

Patients with endometriosis present with a variety of symptoms, most notably chronic pelvic pain (75% of patients) and infertility (up to 40%)

No permanent cure

There's no permanent cure for endometriosis so far. Symptom relief is the primary goal of existing treatment options combining surgery and hormonal therapies

The diagnostic test for endometriosis

EndoSearch®

EndoSearch® will be the first noninvasive diagnostic test for endometriosis.
It will shed light on the presence or absence of endometriosis and allow patient management accordingly. It is a real breakthrough innovation as compared to the current gold standard laparoscopy, which is an invasive surgical procedure with an average delay of 9 years between disease onset and its diagnosis.

Expected Impacts

Impact of EndoSearch® on

Patients' needs

Endometriosis is a chronic and debilitating condition strongly affecting the quality of life of millions of patients. Lack of a non-invasive diagnostic test contributes to the long delay between onset of symptoms and diagnosis of endometriosis. EndoSearch® provides an easy and noninvasive accurate diagnostic test and replaces the surgery which is expensive and can lead to adverse events.
With EndoSearch® diagnostic test, all symptomatic women who have pelvic pain and/or subfertility could be screened for endometriosis and according to EndoSearch® results efficiently treated, preventing endometriosis progression and damages to other organs but also increasing IVF success rates. EndoSearch® impact on patients will be substantial and will benefit to millions of women.

Impact of EndoSearch® on
